Hey there. Thanks for popping in. I'm guessing that if you are here it is because you are on the search for a photographer. So...let me tell you a bit about myself. I'm a wife and mama to 4. Those are my favorite roles in life. My kiddos are the reason I became a photographer. Yes- like many others out there- I grew passionate about photography when my first was born so that I could document his precious life and remember all of his sweet milestones. But there is a little more to that story for me. You see, my first career was teaching and I loved it. But when my daughter, Mylie, was born with Down syndrome we quickly decided that it was more important for me to be home. I spent the next 9 years focused solely on my babies and learning photography became my creative outlet. When my youngest was starting school I knew it was the right time to return to some form of work. Photography was the perfect fit, allowing me to continue to be available to my kiddos. It has been an incredible journey for me- one filled with blessings that I didn't expect. I first thought it was all about taking photographs. I quickly learned it was more about the people I would meet and grow to adore. My "clients" all become family to me. We get to walk through some of the most incredible moments of life together. Being invited in to that is the highest honor for me.
There is no cure for time. No matter how hard I try to slow down and savor life - life happens and time slips away from me. Most days end in a blur and another day starts before I’m ready. I have become that person who stops the overwhelmed mom in the grocery store to remind her to savor the relentless chatter because one day she will miss the sweet little voice that is interupting her attempt to accomplish her list. Perhaps you’re there with me - about to send that same little one off to college. Perhaps you are just starting this journey called motherhood and already realizing how quickly they grow. Photography became my “why” because I needed a way to make time stand still so that I could savor the memories with my family. This is probably your why too - why we are on this journey together, why you will cherish your portraits with your family for generations. Let’s create a beautiful way to savor & share those memories together.
I think it is very important to let all visitors know that I am not a shoot and share photographer, meaning the product of my shoots are not digital files that get lost in a computer or buried in a Facebook feed. I totally understand the desire for clients to have digital files so that they can share them with family and friends on social media avenues, and my clients do get to enjoy this as well, but primarily my clients are left with beautiful prints, albums, and art work that they can enjoy in their homes everyday. My clients value displaying their families throughout their homes, feeding a strong sense of love and pride in the eyes and hearts of their children. This is my passion. This is the reason I share my photography with others.
